A music-based video game highlighting the Beatles catalog will hit retail on September 9 of this year, according to a press release from Apple Corps., LTD, MTV Games and Rock Band creators Harmonix.
Titled The Beatles: Rock Band, the game will release simultaneously on Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The game will feature "an unprecedented, experiential progression through and celebration of the music and artistry of The Beatles," according to a statement. It will also included a limited number of new peripherals modeled after instruments used by the Fab Four throughout their career.
"We want to take players on a sort of an experiential journey through the band's imagery and ideas and vision as they evolved over the course of their time together," said Harmonix co-founder Alex Rigopulos during a press conference announcing the collaboration last October.
Consumers can purchase the game only for $59.99, a standalone guitar bundle for $99.99, or a limited edition premium bundle for $249.99.
